update 5th Feb 2026
Dear parent / carer,
Please note the following:
- The terms of office of three of our parent governors are up in March and I have been asked to put in place arrangements to replace them (or for them to apply again). Please find in the 'Parents and Guardians' tab more information along with a nomination form should you wish to put yourself forward. The closing date is a week tomorrow, noon Friday 13th Feb 2026.
- One of the jobs of the governing body is to appoint the school’s headteacher. As such, this seems an appropriate moment to let you know that I will be finishing in the Summer! I’ve been at the school now for over 17 years and I turn 60 this year, so it seems like the right time for me to move on. The governors met last night to start the process of securing the services of my replacement who, all being well, will start in September.
- One of the governors (Jo Boycott – Building Blocks) has organised a volunteer session at Croesy Community Garden (behind Building Blocks Nursery) on Friday 20th Feb at 10am (during half term). Parents are welcome to come with their children, but children are welcome on their own as long as they can look after themselves! Volunteers will be creating a marsh area and making amphibian homes. It’s a free hour or 2 outside doing some great activities, so they are hoping for a good turnout.
All the best,
SB
